Snell, Allen Lead Lifters

With 480-pound deadlift, Ken Snell won the 123-pound weight class at the Florida State Deadlift Championships in Lakeland on May 6.

Other Polk-based lifters included: Mike Whitten, second, 181-pound class; Dave Crocks, third, 242-pound class; Max Jameron-Lee, second, 148-pound teen-age class; Mike Mann, second, men's junior 165-pound class; Jerry Williams, first, men's submaster 220-pound class, ages 35-39.

In the women's division, Kari Sabin and Dianne Lacey Allen finished first with deadlifts of 385 and 250 pounds, respectively.

Allen was second in the women's 165-pound class at the Florida Powerlifting Championships.
